LRAJ Green

For NavAlt Solar & Electric Boats and LRAJ Green Solutions, Arka contributed to the development of the LRAJ Green — a fully electric canal cruise vessel for 44 passengers. Operating on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa, it is the region’s first privately operated solar- and electric-powered passenger vessel.

The LRAJ Green is equipped with a sustainable propulsion system comprising two 18.5 kW inboard motors powered by three 40 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries. Energy is generated by a 12 kW solar array mounted on the vessel’s roof. The system automatically switches between solar and battery power to optimise energy consumption. A 20 kVA generator serves as an emergency backup, although it is rarely used in practice.

An advanced monitoring and control system continuously tracks voltage, temperature and power. Through intuitive dashboards, the crew can monitor the energy system status in real time. Since its launch, the vessel has been operating daily sightseeing cruises from the Panjim Ferry Ramp in Goa, contributing to a quieter, cleaner, and more efficient experience on the water.
