Minors:
Our website and services are not intended to collect data about visitors under the age of 16, unless a parent or guardian has given consent. Arka cannot verify whether a visitor is over 16. We therefore encourage parents to be involved in their children’s online activities. Together, we can help prevent children’s data from being collected without parental consent.

Breach of privacy:
If you believe that we have collected personal data about a minor without the consent described above, please contact us at info@arka.nl. We will delete this information immediately.

Why we need your data and how long we retain it

Arka processes your personal data for the following purposes:

We enter into a data processing agreement with companies that process your personal data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality. Arka remains the data controller.

Google Analytics:
We use Google Analytics on arka.nl to collect anonymised browsing data. This allows us to understand how visitors like you use our website. We use this information to make informed decisions about the website’s structure and optimise its performance. To ensure careful processing, we have taken the following measures:

• We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google;
• We have masked the final octet of IP addresses;
• We have disabled all options provided by Google for sharing data with Google;
• We do not use other Google services in combination with Google Analytics cookies.

If you do not want your anonymised data to be sent to Google Analytics, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This add-on prevents Google Analytics JavaScript code (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) running on websites from sharing information about visit activity with Google Analytics.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your personal data

Your rights:

• You have the right to access your personal data, request corrections or ask for your data to be deleted.
• If you have any questions or comments about how Arka processes your data, please contact info@arka.nl.
• Arka needs to verify that the request has been made by you. We therefore ask you to include a copy of your identity document with your request for access, correction or deletion. To protect your privacy, please black out your photograph, MRZ (machine-readable zone, the strip of characters at the bottom of your passport), passport number and citizen service number (BSN).
• Arka will respond to your request as soon as possible, and in any event within four weeks.

Securing communications through SSL encryption

SSL:
To protect you as a website visitor, Arka uses secure encryption technologies. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encrypts your personal data during transmission between your browser and our website, preventing third parties from reading it.

How can you recognise a secure connection?
We use SSL encryption wherever personal data is processed on our website, including when you complete the contact form. You can check this in your browser: the website address begins with https:// rather than http://. Depending on your browser, a padlock or another security indicator may also appear next to the address.
